18:
If you use the FreeBSD package or port, mpd will be
19: automatically installed
20: into
/usr/local/sbin/mpd5
.
21: with the default set of device types compiled into it.
22: In order to run, mpd needs
23: a few configuration files. The directory
24:
/usr/local/etc/mpd5
is created
25: to hold them.
26: In it you will find some sample configuration files.

27:
Before you can run mpd, you must set up your site-specific
28: configuration files. These files are:
29:

30:
31:

mpd.conf

This file defines one or more configurations.
32: When mpd is invoked, you specify the name of a
33: configuration on the command line. This configuration
34: (which merely consists of a series of mpd commands) is loaded.
35: If no configuration is given, 'default' configuration
36: is loaded.

37:
38:
Each configuration defines one or more bundles, links and repeaters.
39: They can be defined with the
create
command.
40: Subsequent commands in the configuration configure the various
41: layers for that item.

42:
43:

mpd.secret

This file contains login, password pairs. This is where
44: mpd looks to find all authentication information. This
45: file should be readable only by
root
.
